WXNZ-LP - HooSkow Radio is your community radio station!
The Wesserunsett Arts Council's latest and certainly most ambitious project to date is the creation of community radio station WXNZ-LP -- HooSkow Radio -- on the air right now at 98.1 on the FM dial.
Our studios are located in four cells of the old Skowhegan Jailhouse, generously donated by the Maine Grains Alliance. (Thank YOU!)
Our programming is eclectic and inclusive for all ages of people in our community.
The WXNZ on-air family includes:
Annie Stillwater Gray
My name is Annie Stillwater Gray. I got my first broadcast license in 1974 when you had to take a long FCC exam to qualify. Since that time, I have worked at stations up and down the radio dial, both commercial and non-commercial. in 1996 I decided to go independent and set out to produce a show that listeners can really enjoy.
Andy Wendell
Hi, I'm Andy Wendell, the engineer, director, and technical advisor. When I'm not at work or in the studio here at home, or driving somewhere in between, I'm digging in the garden, watering the vegetables and flowers, cutting, splitting, and throwing firewood, plowing the driveway, etc. etc. My alias, Timewalker, is the Jazz and Techno director for WMHB and also does a radio show called 'Jazzbeat' live Friday nights at 7:00pm on WMHB, 89.7 FM Waterville, Maine. I always make time to participate in The In-Spite-Of-Life-Players July 4th play in the West Athens gravel pit.
Tim "Timtron" Smith
Pat Turlo (Blues, Captain Barney, WMHB)
Fang and Abby (Sounds All Around The World, WMHB)

Community programming will also be a big part of WXNZ-LP. Expect lots of discussion of relevant community topics, reflecting the interests and tastes of the wonderful people who make up the greater Skowhegan area.
